Park District
The Downers Grove Park District,
created in 1946, provides a wide variety of year-round
recreational programs, activities, facilities, parks,
open space and natural areas that respond to the
articulated needs and desires of residents.
Throughout the year, the Park
District offers over 3,000 recreation classes designed
for early childhood, teens, adults and seniors. We offer
numerous seasonal special events, fun and educational
camps, state-licensed preschool programs, competitive
and instructional sports, indoor swimming, performing
and visual arts classes.
The Park District provides a unique
blend of parks and facilities. Residents may enjoy our
49 park sites on more than 600 acres, the Lincoln
Community Center, state-of-the-art Recreation and
Fitness Center, 160 acres of natural areas including
Lyman Woods and Belmont Prairie, a nine-hole golf course
and driving range, an 18-hole miniature golf course,
three fishing ponds, and sports fields.
